  One of my rare adventures in writing fantasy appears here in this anthology, just published, edited by Deborah Ross. Judging from the table of contents, I'm in good company (I personally love anything by Tanith Lee!)

I'm going to be signing at Barnes & Noble, Marina Pacifica (Long Beach), on Saturday July 23rd, at 2pm. This will be part of a joint venture between B&N and GLAWS (Greater Los Angeles Writers Society) that runs all day, starting at 11 am.

Last night, my son-in-law managed to complete the upload of BIRDS to Amazon/Kindle. It took an hour and a half -- not to count the countless earlier hours spent massaging the novel's file to get it to a format Amazon could read. I've spent a lot of time in the last few weeks getting a novel ready for its appearance on Kindle. Birds was one of those books that seemed to attract bad luck right from the git go. On Tuesday,I took part in a science fiction panel that was the opening act at UC Riverside's Writer's Week. The university's Eaton Collection houses the largest collection of science fiction manuscripts, books and memorabilia west of the Mississippi (and maybe in the entire country).
